“Thought provoking content, with positive feedback”
Great to have John give a talk to 20+ local community organisation leaders on his experience of developing AI policy and what ‘responsible AI’ means in the context of community and charities. Great delivery and thought provoking content, with positive feedback.
About the session
This talk brought together more than twenty leaders from local community organisations to explore a question that is quickly moving to the top of every charity’s agenda: how do we use AI responsibly when we are working with vulnerable people and limited resources?
Most guidance on AI is written for large corporations with legal teams. Very little of it speaks to a small charity trying to do the right thing. This session set out to close that gap, sharing practical experience of developing AI policy, and unpacking what “responsible AI” actually means in the day-to-day reality of community and charitable work.
Why it matters
Responsible AI cannot be a luxury reserved for organisations that can afford consultants. It has to reach the frontline, in plain language, built for the realities of community work. Helping charities and community groups develop clear, confident AI policy is exactly the kind of work I care about most, and sessions like this are where it starts.
Want a talk, workshop, or help with your AI policy?
I work with charities, community organisations and public bodies to build practical, responsible approaches to AI and digital inclusion. If your team is wrestling with where to start, let’s talk.
