Editorial & Research Policy

Effective date: 15 December 2024 Last updated: 7 June 2026

This policy consolidates the previous “Website Disclaimer & Editorial Policy” and “Research & Citation Policy” into a single document.

1. Purpose of this website and policy

This website is a personal platform operated by John Adewole. It serves as a personal intellectual publication space where John shares reflections, analysis, conceptual frameworks, and commentary relating to technology, digital inclusion, governance, systems thinking, and emerging societal challenges.

This policy explains two things: the editorial approach and limitations that apply to the content, and how research, references, and intellectual materials published here should be interpreted, referenced, and cited. Its aim is to promote responsible use of published material, proper attribution of ideas, transparency in research references, and intellectual integrity in academic and professional contexts.

2. Editorial independence

The content published on this website reflects the independent views and analysis of the author. Unless explicitly stated, the views expressed do not represent the official position of any organisation, do not constitute institutional statements, and should not be interpreted as formal policy recommendations.

3. Nature of the content

Content published here may include analytical essays, conceptual frameworks, research commentary, reflections on technology and society, and references to academic or policy literature. Individual pieces may combine academic insights, policy observations, practitioner perspectives, and personal reflection. The website therefore functions as a hybrid intellectual space, bridging academic discussion, policy commentary, and public communication.

Content is intended for informational and educational purposes, and represents interpretative analysis and commentary rather than definitive academic conclusions.

4. Accuracy and interpretation

Reasonable care is taken to ensure that information published here is accurate and current. However, no guarantee is made that all information is complete, that it remains current, or that all interpretations will remain valid over time. Interpretations may evolve as new research emerges, technologies develop, and policy environments change.

Readers should independently verify important information where necessary, and treat the material as analytical discussion rather than settled fact.

5. No professional advice

The content on this website does not constitute legal advice, financial advice, professional consultancy, or formal policy guidance. Readers should seek appropriate professional advice where needed.

6. Citing original ideas and frameworks

Some concepts and frameworks presented on this website represent original intellectual contributions by the author, including conceptual models and analytical frameworks relating to digital inclusion, technological change, governance and systems thinking, and social impact and community capability.

When referencing these ideas in publications, presentations, or research materials, appropriate attribution should be provided.

7. Referencing website content

Readers and researchers are welcome to reference content from this website for academic research, policy analysis, educational use, and public discussion. When referencing material, please cite the author, include the article title, provide the website link, and include the access date.

Direct copying of large sections of text without attribution is not permitted. Content should not be reproduced in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without permission, and the author’s views should not be misrepresented or presented out of context.

8. External references and sources

This website may refer to external organisations, research papers, public policy documents, institutional reports, publicly available data, third-party websites, and media sources. These references are provided to support discussion and analysis only.

Where possible, original sources should be consulted for complete context. The author does not claim ownership of third-party research referenced within articles, and does not control or take responsibility for external content.

9. Limitation of responsibility

The website owner shall not be held liable for any actions taken based on information published on this website. Use of the website and reliance on its content is undertaken at the user’s own discretion.

10. Academic and policy engagement

If readers identify factual inaccuracies or wish to suggest corrections, they are encouraged to make contact. Where appropriate, corrections or updates may be made to maintain the accuracy and integrity of published material.
