About John
Biography
John Adewole is a UK-based digital inclusion strategist and founder of IFB Gaming, a research and learning organisation working at the intersection of technology, community development, and public policy. Since 2016, his work has focused on closing the gap between digital access and genuine digital participation, for individuals, community organisations, and public services alike.
His work spans community delivery, policy engagement, and applied research, including contributions to London-wide digital inclusion through the GLA Community Insights Hub and engagement with NHS Digital on accessible healthcare technology. He is the originator of the Seven Pillars Framework for Future-Proofed Communities and the Multiplayer Online Social Formation Cycle (MOSFC), structured approaches to understanding digital participation in modern society.
He is co-author, with Dr Karen Schrier, of a volume in the Learning, Education and Games series, and is currently completing a PhD alongside Dr Peter Bednar (University of Portsmouth) on digital inclusion as a socio-technical joint-optimisation problem, work developed for the STPIS 2026 conference in L’Aquila, Italy.
