As winter approaches, staying connected becomes more important than ever. In today’s digital world, connectivity is not just about access to information—it’s about empowerment. For families and individuals, particularly in underserved communities, the ability to stay warmly connected means access to essential services, education, and opportunities that can transform lives.
This is why IFB Gaming, Learn and Play CIC, Fowizya Hsl and Jack Pelier Hub are partnering to give away Free SIM cards to adults (over 18) who need access to connectivity for job hunting, health care and essential everyday living.
- Collect free SIM cards from Jack Pelier Hall every Thursday and Friday
- From 11am – 1pm
- Helping to overcome the digital divide for over-18s on low income / refugees / asylum seekers
- Talk to us about your digital challenges and concerns
- Register for new coding classes for young people (Family Code-A-Thon) at Jack Pelier Hall

Leo Emmanuel’s Story

Leo had just arrived in the UK to begin his studies, but his journey was not without its challenges.
Having been in London for a while, Leo found himself unable to contact his friends and family back home, leaving them unaware of his arrival. This lack of connectivity also prevented him from fully enjoying the benefits of micro-learning and the broader perks of higher education in the UK.
Like many refugees we support daily through the National Digital Inclusion Network, Leo was only granted refugee status after his arrival in the UK. Consequently, he spent a considerable amount of time without access to public support, until he stumbled upon the National Digital Inclusion Network’s map.
Through the directory, Leo connected with IFB Gaming. He swiftly filled out the Emergency Data Request Form on IFB’s website on a Friday and, despite the rain, was able to collect his SIM package at one of our Southwark data waypoints on Sunday morning—just in time for his lectures on Monday.
Now, Leo can reconnect with his family, engage in micro-learning at university, and fully participate in socio-economic learning opportunities.
