SUMMARY:Connecting Community Insights to Policy
DESCRIPTION:Connecting Community Insights to Policy\, Toynbee Hall\, 1pm-5pm \nJoin us at Toynbee Hall if you would like to engage with communities in more creative ways or learn about new ideas and approaches to embed community voice in your policies and programmes. \nThere will be opportunities to learn from those already delivering successful and impactful creative community engagement and peer research\, and information about the support that is available to you from the GLA and other organisations. This includes the exciting launch of a new toolkit for GLA policymakers on how to commission peer research. Co-designed with a steering group of GLA officers\, this toolkit will serve as a centralised hub of practical guidance and resources\, ensuring that policymakers have the support they need to effectively commission peer research\, whilst fostering meaningful community engagement. \nWe will hear from some of the first contributors to the GLA’s Community Insights Hub\, who have been using creative methodologies such as film\, photography\, zine making and video-game principles to engage with communities and deliver impactful engagement projects. \nThere will also be an energising and practical workshop led by Neighbourly Labs\, focused on participatory policy making and unpacking some of the challenges that we face when trying to carry out engagement work. \n  \nSign up here \nLunch and refreshments will be provided.

SUMMARY:Designing Ethical & Inclusive Chatbots for Public Services
DESCRIPTION:Designing Ethical & Inclusive Chatbots for Public Services \nArtificial intelligence and chatbots are rapidly becoming part of everyday digital services. However\, poorly designed systems can exclude vulnerable users\, share inaccurate information\, create safeguarding risks\, or undermine public trust. \nThis practical workshop supports organisations to design AI tools responsibly — with inclusion\, safety and accountability at the centre. \nLed by John Adewole\, Digital Inclusion and Community Technology Lead at IFB Gaming\, the session combines ethics\, safeguarding\, accessibility and real-world delivery experience to help teams move beyond “plug-and-play AI” towards thoughtful\, people-centred design. \nParticipants will learn how to plan\, design and govern chatbots that are: \n\nsafe\naccessible\ntransparent compliant\nand genuinely useful to communities\n\nThis workshop is ideal for councils\, schools\, charities\, NHS teams\, and community organisations deploying AI within public-facing services. \nNo coding knowledge required. \nLearning Outcomes\nBy the end of the session participants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand risks and responsibilities of AI chatbots\nIdentify safeguarding and misinformation risks\nApply digital inclusion principles to AI design\nDraft ethical guardrails and governance policies\nDesign user journeys for vulnerable or low-confidence users\nSelect tools responsibly (not just cheaply)\nCreate a basic chatbot prototype safely\n\nInvestment \nGiven the legal\, safeguarding\, and reputational risks associated with poorly designed AI systems\, this workshop is structured as a practical investment in safe\, compliant deployment: \n\nIndividual place (public cohort): £195 per participant\nNon-profit / education rate: £125 per participant\nOrganisational team booking (up to 15 staff): £1\,800\nBespoke in-house delivery (tailored to your organisation): From £2\,500\n\nAll sessions include workshop materials\, templates\, and post-session guidance notes. \nReady! Let’s scope your needs. (Deadline: 7th of March 2026)
