DESCRIPTION:Connecting Community Insights to Policy\, Toynbee Hall\, 1pm-5pm  \nJoin us at Toynbee Hall if you would like to engage with communities in more creative ways or learn about new ideas and approaches to embed community voice in your policies and programmes. \nThere will be opportunities to learn from those already delivering successful and impactful creative community engagement and peer research\, and information about the support that is available to you from the GLA and other organisations. This includes the exciting launch of a new toolkit for GLA policymakers on how to commission peer research. Co-designed with a steering group of GLA officers\, this toolkit will serve as a centralised hub of practical guidance and resources\, ensuring that policymakers have the support they need to effectively commission peer research\, whilst fostering meaningful community engagement.  \nWe will hear from some of the first contributors to the GLA’s Community Insights Hub\, who have been using creative methodologies such as film\, photography\, zine making and video-game principles to engage with communities and deliver impactful engagement projects. \nThere will also be an energising and practical workshop led by Neighbourly Labs\, focused on participatory policy making and unpacking some of the challenges that we face when trying to carry out engagement work. \n  \nSign up here \nLunch and refreshments will be provided.

DESCRIPTION:I run a free\, community-focused AI workshop every Saturday at 10:00 AM\, lasting one hour and thirty minutes. \nThese sessions exist because I believe access to understanding should not depend on your background\, job title\, or technical experience. Too many people are left out of conversations about Artificial Intelligence simply because it is explained in ways that feel complex or out of reach. \nMy aim is to change that. \nEach session breaks AI down into simple\, practical language and shows how it connects to real life. We explore how AI can support everyday tasks: learning\, work\, communication\, job searching\, creativity\, and small business activity. No prior knowledge is assumed\, and no technical experience is required. \nThe sessions are calm\, open\, and welcoming. There is space to ask questions\, share experiences\, and learn at a comfortable pace. Nothing is rushed\, and nothing is judged. This is not about hype or complexity. It is about confidence\, clarity\, and inclusion. \nWhy these sessions exist \nI started these workshops because digital change is accelerating quickly\, and many individuals and communities risk being excluded from it. My work focuses on digital inclusion\, and AI is now one of the most important areas where that inclusion must be addressed.
