Investing in Knowledge: A Fundraiser for Vulnerable and Senior Citizens

Hello dear supporters,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek your support for a cause that is close to my heart.

I seek your help to raise £5783 for essential community learning equipment for the vulnerable and elderly groups that I support in the London Borough of Southwark.

The fund will be used to purchase:

1. An Epsom projector

2. A projector screen

3. A projector trolley

The Challenge:

The pandemic has exposed and exacerbated the digital divide. There is a sense of urgency around digital skills and literacy. In healthcare, the NHS has now moved several routine appointments online. Elderly people are now required to book appointments online through an application called Swiftqueue.

This will increase A&E visits, increase queues at hospitals and certainly cause some stress to elderly people.

How I tackle the Challenge:

Digital Literacy Workshops: I organize workshops to teach essential digital skills, including internet usage, email, online safety, and job searching, to individuals who are new to technology.

Device Distribution: I provide refurbished computers and tablets to families and individuals who cannot afford them, ensuring they have the necessary tools to access online services and resources.

Data Support: We partner with local mobile providers to provide data bundles to those who struggle to afford internet connectivity, enabling them to access educational resources and apply for jobs.

Community Access Points: We will establish community centres with free Wi-Fi access to bridge the digital gap, making online resources available to those without internet access at home.

Elderly Population: I support Seniors to master the computer and the new NHS appointment booking process.

How your support will be used:

1. Projector: £4,674

2. Projector Screen: £799

3. Projector Trolley: £310

TOTAL: £5,783

Your Impact:

With your support, we will empower individuals in our community to access online education, find job opportunities, and improve their overall quality of life. Together, we can bridge the digital divide and make a lasting difference.

Thank you for considering our cause, and for joining us in our mission to tackle digital exclusion and data poverty in South London.

Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in the lives of those we seek to help.
